Coach's Corner

Hey That's Out of Bounds! Setting and defining personal boundaries is extremely important not just for ourselves but for those around us.If you look at a piece of property that has a fence around it you know very clearly where it begins and ends - there's no guess work trying to figure out the boundaries. The guess work is taken out and it makes life less complicated. When define and set our own personal boundaries it makes life much simpler for those around us. They know how we expect to be treated, what we will and won't do - in essence they know where our fence line is. We teach peoplewhat ourboundaries are throughour body language and our actions. I love tothe quote 'Your action are speaking so loudly I can't hear what you say.' Ask yourself what are my actions saying? What message am I giving to those around me through unspoken messages? People learn how to treat us by how we treat ourselves. If you want to be treated with more respect then you need to start treating yourself with more respect. Learning how to say no can be one of the most challenging things that we do on the journey to defining and setting personal boundaries but it is also one of the most loving as well. It's okay to start small and work your way up to the big boundaries after all small changes over time yield huge results.
